Legal Status

United E-Commerce Federation (UNIEF)

The United E-Commerce Federation (UNIEF) is a non-profit association established in accordance with Articles 60–79 of the Swiss Civil Code, which governs associations in Switzerland.

UNIEF is domiciled in Cologny, Geneva, and operates as an independent, non-political, and non-commercial international organisation. Its activities follow the principles of transparency, neutrality, and responsible governance.

An International, Non-Profit Association

Under Swiss association law, UNIEF: has legal personality, may enter into agreements, may engage with partners globally, and governs itself through its Statutes and internal regulations.

As a Swiss-based association, UNIEF does not exercise regulatory authority and does not replace national legislation. Its role is to facilitate cooperation, promote voluntary standards, and support the development of responsible digital commerce worldwide.
